SAFETY INFORMATION

FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS CAN RESULT IN FIRE, ELECTRICAL SHOCK, OR OTHER INJURY OR DAMAGE.

General Safety

Before each usage, inspect the device for signs of damage. In particular, inspect the batteries to ensure they are not damaged and have no signs of corrosion, leakage, or other physical damage. If you find that the batteries are damaged, do not use the device and contact customer support for help replacing the batteries. Use only batteries supplied by or recommended by the support team.

Do not expose the device to wet conditions or any type of liquid. If the device is expected to liquid, carefully disconnect the power supply (if plugged in) and remove the batteries (if present) without getting your hands wet, and then wait for the device to dry completely before attempting to operate it. Contact support for further instructions if you observe damage to the device after it dries or if the device fails to operate properly after it dries.

Replacing and Handling Batteries

Use only batteries supplied by Master AI! Sourcing your own batteries can be risky as many suppliers offer low-quality batteries.

Do not install the batteries backwards. While the circuit board has protections against doing this, it is still not recommended and can cause damage to the device. The white markings on the blue circuit board indicate the correct directions to install each battery.

Do not mix unbalanced batteries! If you remove the batteries to charge them externally, you must charge each battery using the same charger and be sure to charge the batteries all to the same level before installing them back into the device.

Do not install batteries in this device that were obtained from a different device. Use only batteries supplied with the device originally, supplied as replacements for the device by the support team, or recommended by the support team.

Always dispose of old or damaged batteries properly (consult your local government for proper disposal options).

Charging

Use only the charging adaptor supplied by the manufacture and shipped with the device. Using any other charging adaptor is extremely risky and can cause serious damage, electrical shocks, or other serious injury or harm.

Do not leave battery charging unattended. Charge only at room temperature (60-75F). Do not charge the device in a small enclosed area and/or in any place with limited airflow (like inside a box, inside a cabinet, etc).

Do not touch the inner circuit board while charging (or for 5 minutes after charging is stopped). The inner surface of the blue circuit board gets very hot. The device is assembled so that the hot parts are not accessible, and the areas that get hot are clearly marked. Nonetheless, practice caution by not touching these hot parts at all while charging (or for 5 minutes after charging is stopped). The batteries themselves may become warm to the touch, but should not become hot.

Do not charge with batteries reversed. Always ensure batteries are properly installed before charging the device, as another person may have installed the batteries incorrectly while you were not aware.

Several safety precautions are taken in the onboard battery charging circuitry, such as:

  • Batteries are charged at less than 30% of the capacity rating (i.e. less than 0.3C). This maximizes battery life and minimizes battery heating.
  • The device auto-powers off when the battery voltage dips to approximately 6V.
  • Preconditioning: If the battery pack voltage is approximately 5.7V or lower, then the charger charges at only 10% of its normal rate as a safety precaution.
  • Constant current: When not preconditioning, the charger charges at a constant current of approximately 1A.
  • Constant voltage: In the final stages of charging when the battery reaches its regulation voltage, the charger enters a constant voltage phase where it holds the voltage at the regulation voltage and slowly decreases current until the battery is fully charged.

Operation

Place the device on the ground before running its motors. Devices placed on a table (or otherwise off the ground) can fall off and damage themselves or other people or objects.

Stand clear of the device, and also clear a path for the device, while operating it; impact from the device running into people or items can cause injury or other damage.

The device’s motor can become hot when running for an extended period. As a precaution, do not touch the motor directly at any point in case it has become hot.
